Eric Gagnon, Senior Systems Test Engineer, introduces a challenging project where our technical team developed a combined Cold Spill and Jet Fire system for an FLNG asset, based on Cryogel® Z and Pyrogel® XTF. This solution achieved four Lloyd’s Register Type approvals and will be of particular interest to engineers seeking to resolve clashes and reduce weight on floating assets.

In a second project reference, Eric addresses space-saving benefits on pipe-racking for an on-shore project where combined cold conservation and jet fire protection was required. The original design did not account for the expansion of the intumescent fire protection, the Cryogel Z and Pyrogel XTF solution represented a 400% thickness reduction compared to a conventional build-up, enabling the construction team to complete the project as designed.
