This specification provides design and application guidelines for the use of Pyrogel XTE and Pyrogel HPS as thermal insulation and/or acoustical insulation. It applies to piping, vessels, and equipment operating at above-ambient service temperatures.

  • Guidance on when to use either Pyrogel XTE or Pyrogel HPS
  • Detailed drawings and instructions for installing Pyrogel on complex geometries (e.g. flanges, valves, vessel heads, inside vessel skirt)
  • List of insulation accessories and suppliers to simplify the installation process
  • Advice on metal jacketing installation, especially on vertical installations when many more considerations need to be taken
